Meet the Doctor

Dr. Parmiter is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician credentialed by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.  He is the Official Team Chiropractor of the Norfolk Tides (MLB Baltimore Orioles AAA affiliate), Norfolk Admirals (NHL Tampa Bay Lightening AAA Affiliate), Hampton Roads Piranhas (Women’s Pro Soccer team of the United Soccer League’s W-League, and affiliate to the WUSA), Virginia Beach Mariners (Men’s Pro Soccer team of the United Soccer League, as well as affiliate to the D.C. United and the New England Revolution of the MLS), Virginia Hurricanes (Semi-Pro Football team of the NAFL), and also of the former Norfolk Nighthawks (Of the AF2 and AAA affiliate to the Arena Football League) and the Tidewater Floods (Women’s Tackle Football team of the NWFA).

 Dr. Parmiter holds certification from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is licensed with the Virginia Board of Medicine and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

He graduated from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic, Spartanburg, SC in 1995 where he was awarded a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.  In addition, Dr. Parmiter attained post-graduate certification in Physiotherapy from New York Chiropractic College, Seneca Falls, NY in March of 1996.  He has also received certification in Sports Injury and Physical Fitness from Logan College of Chiropractic, St. Louis, MO in February of 1998.  In 1994, he achieved South Carolina certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.

He completed his undergraduate studies from Penn State-Behrend, Erie, PA and Spartanburg Methodist College, Spartanburg, SC.  While at Penn State in 1990, he was inducted into Alpha Sigma Academic Honor Society.

Dr. Parmiter has served on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Chiropractic Association from 1997-1999, at which time his position was that of District Representative for Northwest Virginia.  He served as co-chair for the Education Committee from 1998-1999, as well as chairperson of the New Practitioner Committee.

Dr. Parmiter also had the honor of being named “1998 Young Chiropractor of the Year” by the Virginia Chiropractic Association.

He also served on the Board of Directors for Guardian Care Alliance of Virginia, a state-wide Independent Physicians Association, where he was co-chair of the Credentialing Committee, as well as serving on the Mt. Trashmore Board of Management for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads.

He is President and CEO of Health Links Incorporated, a company dedicated to improving one’s health through chiropractic care, as well as through he use of seminars, screenings and educational products.

Originally from Conneaut Lake, PA, Dr. Parmiter now resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his wife Audra and three children, Chase, Jacob and Faith.  When not seeing patients, Dr. Parmiter spends the majority of his time speaking within the community, as well as volunteering his time to local athletic events.
